As mentioned on the homepage the re-launch of the "60's Sunday" kicked off at 09.00 on 24th June,2007,although now over 1 year ago a really big thank you for "Terry Hawke" helping me out on this one, he makes a good mug of tea too.The reason that Terry was on hand was at my request and I can now tell you that the reason was after suffering my heart attack I was not sure what was going to happen to me when sitting in the on air studio chair and the adrenalin rush kicks in.(well as you know I survived it,but it was certainly an unknown quantity & it took a couple of weeks to get used to using the system at HFM,as each radio station use different sorts of equipment).
If there are any music tracks that you hear on the show & would like to know more about give me a shout and I will endeavour to fill you in on the details, keep the faith, Paul.
Last August we aired an offshore radio special to mark the 40th anniversary of the "Marine offences bill".It included the jingles and records played on the offshore stations such as 'Radio Caroline', 'Radio London', 'Radio Scotland', 'Radio City', 'Radio 390' etc.We hope this showed you what the pirates did for everyone of us music lovers.!It does not seem possible it was 40 years to this day. Other features will be hi-lited over the coming weeks so check back to this page for a regular update.
You can listen to further shows on 102.3 or by logging on to www.harboroughfm.co.uk The show will play some of the stuff that is not normally aired on the radio,so should make you sit up and take notice,I would be interested to hear any feedback on that matter. All of the music played will be from my own cd library, which has a very extensive core of some of the best "60's music,it is the sort of music that will stand the test of time.! Talking of 60's music which we were as they say,if there is a particular track that you want me to dig out for you give me a weeks notice, as I have the shows produced up to one week in advance.(if there any favourite memories that would great too).
In the meantime we will try to give you one or two radio related links starting off with the radio station that really got me hooked in this business in the first place over 40 years ago,and that is Radio Caroline you can find the lady at www.radiocaroline.com
Talking of Caroline which we weren't,one of the offshore men from 40 odd years ago presents "Pirate Radio Skues" on a Sunday evening from Norfolk, from 21.00-01.00,log on at www.bbc.co.uk/norfolk or click on their listen again feature at the web sites home page.Kieth is lucky enough to broadcast this show from his own home.!!(luxury)
More locally my good friend Terry Hawke who in some ways is a modern day John Peel with the daring alternative music that he plays,(he is of that certain age now that he feels the need to do some of his shows under the influence of sherbert dabs).Either way a good listen and you can find Terry at www.harboroughfm.co.uk on Saturday evenings from 10.00-12 midnight. And a million thanks to him for building this site for me,I can edit things but he has done the lions share of the work, cheers mate.
Or go to his web page at www.terryhawke.org.uk for so much musical information.

If you can't wait until Terry comes along on a Saturday night why not try another one of my favourites ...
